Alaska Anchorage junior Caroline Kurgat won her section in the women's 5,000 meters in a personal-best 15:41.21, improving on her own NCAA Division 2-leading time and elevating herself to No. 11 overall among collegiate performers this season. Kurgat just edged Syracuse junior Paige Stoner (15:41.26) for the victory.
